Chief Tecumseh Called on Native American Nations to Unite 1809

On July 2, 1809, Tecumseh, as part of an ongoing pan-Indian movement, called on all Native American nations to unite and resist the white takeover of their lands. Shawnee, Potawatomi, Kickapoo, Winnebago, Menominee, Ottawa, and Wyandot nations united and successfully resisted further white invasion for several years.
